STORY OF AN ARTIST

WHEN: I can't remember the first time I picked up a pencil or paintbrush. I started following along with my grandmother as soon as I could hold something in my hand. I would love to say that I have been creating art my entire life.

WHAT: I am drawn to the images, objects, feelings, & memories of childhood. I attempt to capture the internal conversations, external relationships, & the memories of those that linger from this period of life.

WHERE: I was born & raised in Greenville, MS. I moved to Milton, Ontario, Canada in 2022 with my husband. We still live in Milton with two young children.

WHY: My work attempts to make people smile, while remembering some piece of their past. An old saying, a family joke, or a silly thing one family member used to do, that can connect us all. My newest work brings together Southern maxims that hold a line of connections through generational lessons that we can all find somewhere in our collective memories.
